Room

Jack vit avec sa mère, Joy, dans une sordide petite pièce, où seule une fenêtre donne accès à la lumière du jour. Le petit garçon prépare un gâteau avec sa maman pour célébrer ses 6 ans. La mère et le fils, dont les journées sont réglées par de répétitives activités quotidiennes, ne sortent jamais de cette pièce à la porte verrouillée en permanence. Ils sont en fait séquestrés depuis plusieurs années par un homme, qui viole Joy toutes les nuits. Le kidnappeur, que la jeune femme surnomme «le vilain Nick» devant son fils, s'avère être le père de l'enfant.
