Amsterdamned
Une prostituée est assassinée sur les berges d'un canal d'Amsterdam. Puis vient le tour de deux militants écologistes qui faisaient des prélèvements dans les eaux du port afin de prouver l'existence de fuites toxiques en provenance d'une usine voisine. Les corps mutilés font tout d'abord penser à quelque monstre surgi du canal. Mais l'inspecteur Eric Visser penche pour la thèse d'un plongeur. Avec son collègue Vermeer, et l'aide de John, de la police fluviale, un copain auquel l'avait jadis opposé une rivalité amoureuse, il oriente son enquête vers des clubs de plongée. Parmi les suspects, Martin Ruysdael, un psychiatre qui a renoncé depuis trois ans à la plongée et Laura, l'une de ses patientes, à qui il a conseillé de pratiquer ce sport comme remède contre le stress.
